What is better, Coke or Pepsi? Despite Coke being far larger of a company and brand than Pepsi, Pepsi was the first to be founded. Pepsi was first introduced in the southern USA in 1890. It wouldn’t be until a few years later, in 1893, that Coke was introduced in the western part of the USA. The Cola Wars is a long time rivalry between soft drink producers the Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo, who mutually targeted marketing campaigns for competition of their products. Both companies directly targeted the audience by differentiating colors of each brand, Coke being the red brand, and Pepsi being the blue brand. They both strive to reach out to their audiences with simple branding ideas to attract people to buy their products.
Both brands are also known for owning dozens of other brands. Coke owns famous brands such as Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, Body Armor, Dasani and multiple other brands. Pepsi competes with brands such as Mountain Dew, Starry, Gatorade, Mug Root Beer, 7up, and much more. One commercial made by Pepsi, that is now banned, was a way for the audience and fans of these soft drinks to make it a competition of which soda is better. Pepsi made what some people may call a funny commercial where a short little kid walks up to a vending machine and can only reach the Coke button and presses it twice to get two Cokes. The little kid proceeds to put the two Cokes on the ground and puts his foot on each one to be able to reach the Pepsi button to secure a Pepsi bottle from the vending machine. This is a way of promoting Pepsi that is better than Coke. Coke likes to respond back in a humorous way by taking a hit out at PepsiCo as seen below.
Each company is great at making advertisements to sell their products and bring audiences to want to buy their product, but in the end which will end up being better? Coke or Pepsi?
