Dan Schneider, a well known producer of famous TV shows on Nickelodeon such as, ICarly, Drake and Josh, Victorious, Henry Danger, Zoey 101 and many more. Starting off in 1993, Schneider was hired to work on a comedy show for children called “All That.” After ten successful seasons, the show originally stopped in 2005. He would move on to three very popular shows before 2010 such as Drake and Josh, Zoey 101, and ICarly. ICarly being one of the biggest TV shows globally, and nationwide Nickelodeon show ever produced. Because of this, Dan Schneider was gaining a lot of recognition from other TV networks and around the USA.
Despite ICarly being one of the best shows he will ever produce, and Nickelodeon would ever air on their network, it still has the biggest controversies till this day on what was going on in the background and stuff that was done for an episode of ICarly. Suspicion was definitely rising when the show finished in 2012. Rumors were starting to spread of abuse in the work environment of ICarly. It was also rumored that actor Jerry Trainor saw this strange behavior from Schneider and was actively trying to protect the other children actors on set by always being with them. Schneider was known for having the actors do weird recordings of their feet while recording on set. All of Schneider’s shows that he produced, actors have done weird episodes that involve feet.
Jennette McCurdy, who appeared in shows such as ICarly, Victorious, and Sam & Cat, made a book about her acting and time on Nickelodeon. She mentions Schneider multiple times in her book saying in quote that, “I felt emotional abuse in the form of screaming, yelling, threats, insults, and other toxic behaviors from my producer.” Jerry Trainor eventually talked in an interview backing up everything that Jennet Mccurdy said in her book, with him saying that, “it was all true.”
After all this controversy and rumors being spread the last show that Dan Schnider produced was Henry Danger. He got fired from Nickelodeon in early 2020 and has been laying low since then. Even after all the amazing shows that were produced by Schneider, Nickelodeon is still reminded of the dark experiences that were happening the background of these tv shows.
