Wendy’s is celebrating 25 years of Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” with “Krabby Patty Kollab” menu items! The collaboration includes a Krabby Patty Burger with a side of fries and a small Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. Together the whole meal costs $10.89. The meal also comes with a sticker page that features characters from the cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants!
Krabby Patty Burger and French Fries
Wendy’s Krabby Patty Burger includes pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, American cheese, and a fresh cooked well done patty shaped in a square. However, Wendy’s is gatekeeping the special sauce that they put in their burger. But I’ll let you in on a secret, I think the Thousand Island dressing was the sauce of the sandwich that made the burger very flavorful and delicious. This dressing has the same tasteful flavors as the sauce on Mcdonald’s Big Mac Burger. Something unique about the menu is that you can request either a single, double, or triple patty depending on how hungry you are! The burger itself cost $6.19. Overall, the burger tasted average and it wasn’t relevant to the theme. The french fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not any different than how they are regularly made.
Pineapple Under the Seas Frosty
The Wendy’s Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is vanilla ice cream with pineapple mango flavored swirl syrup on the bottom of the cup as well as it’s drizzled at the top of the ice cream. Together the flavors make a good combination and leave my taste buds with a long lasting flavor. I like how the name “Pineapple Under the Seas Frosty” correlates with the pineapple that Spongebob Squarepants lives in. The Pineapple Under the Seas Frosty prices range from $2.29-$4.29 depending on the size of the cup you purchase.
This menu is a marketing strategy to attract younger kids to buy off of their menu. There’s not anything significantly special about the food in this collaboration relating to the theme. The Krabby Patty Burger is the same as something you could buy off of the Mcdonald’s menu and the fries aren’t made any differently to correlate with the theme in any kind of special way. Therefore, I think that this menu collaboration would satisfy many younger children. Although, you have to think about if $10.89 is really worth spending on an average meal when you can get a Happy Meal at Mcdonalds for $4-$8 that includes the same type of food. I would rather save my money but this decision is up to you to make!
