Starting off your day right is essential for a successful day. Frederick High students like Darion Patterson and Gavin Atkins both said when they have a productive morning they have a better day. Following these steps is a great start to making sure you stay on task and use your time wisely during the morning.
- Wake up on time
Set multiple alarms to ensure you wake up with enough time to get ready. If you are waking up early in the morning, make sure you go to bed early enough to get about 8 hours of sleep. Getting enough sleep can improve your mood and stress levels throughout the day. This is the baseline for making sure you have a productive day.
- Eat a nutritious breakfast
Having a small nutritious breakfast in the morning is crucial for a good day. As Darion
Cooper, a Frederick High sophomore said, “It makes you happy, it makes you look better in the face, it makes you look energized… You just have to eat your breakfast in the morning!” According to Healthline, foods like eggs and greek yogurt are especially beneficial in the morning. Important proteins and vitamins are in these foods that can make you feel more energized during the day.
- Personal hygiene
Steps like brushing your teeth and skincare are very important in the morning. Mentally, it can help you feel more put together. Feeling clean can improve your mental health and self esteem throughout the day.
- Create a list for the day
Making a to-do list or a schedule for the day can help you organize your thoughts in the
morning and get your brain moving. This list can help you be productive during the day and ensures you get everything done. Asana offers some tips for an effective to-do list.
- Drink water
Drinking water is crucial throughout your entire day. When you have time in the mornings make sure to drink a full glass of water. Drinking water can make you feel better and improve your body’s functioning. This helps you be more focused and ready for the day.
As you continue to develop a morning routine you can find what steps work best for you, and eventually get into the perfect routine. Starting off your day with an effective routine will help you feel and function better throughout the day.
