Located in Middletown lies Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch, a family owned farm. This local farm is recognized for its variety of family-friendly activities, and of course, pumpkins. According to Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch’s website some of the many activities and attractions at Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch are pumpkin picking, hayrides, pony rides, a corn maze, and a petting zoo. Going on a hike
When considering things to do in Frederick during the fall, going on a hike is always a top pick. As mentioned on the National Park Service website, not only does this activity offer the beautiful sight of fall colors, but a breathtaking sight of Frederick County itself. One of the best locations for hiking is Catoctin Mountain Park, located in Thurmont. This destination provides a fascinating view of geological landforms such as Chimney Rock and Hog Rock.

Go on an overnight camping trip
Another fun fall activity to do in Frederick is overnight camping. This is the perfect thing to do in the fall since the temperature is neither too hot, nor too cold. Additionally, overnight camping is good since it provides relaxation, and a strong connection to nature. One good place for this is Cunningham Falls State Park. In addition to having two camping areas, Maryland.com says that this location also has cabins available. The two camping areas are the William Houck Area, and the Manor Area.

Go to The Great Frederick Fair
Last but not least is The Great Frederick Fair; a must activity this fall in Frederick. For more than 160 years, the Great Frederick Fair has been offering much more than just rides and food. According to Visit Frederick, not only does Frederick County’s biggest annual attraction offer live entertainment as well, but also baking competitions, livestock, and photography. No matter your interests, the Great Frederick Fair is guaranteed not to disappoint!
