Lying on the edge of Downtown Frederick, Pretzel and Pizza Creations is not just your typical pizza place. What makes this restaurant unique is that their entire menu is pretzel-based! As a pretzel lover myself, eating here always satisfies my cravings.
Beginning in 1991, Natalia Nastovici and her husband Emil Natsovici moved to Maryland in search of the American dream. They found a struggling pretzel business named “Ck’s Pretzel Works” and decided to buy and renovate it while the original owners moved toward warmer climates.
Now, onto their vast menu: there is guaranteed to be something for everyone, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free of various Pretzel and Pizza creations. They have both savory and sweet pretzel options that can be soft-baked Bavarian style or stuffed! Some popular orders include their butter-and-salt pretzel, cinnamon-sugar pretzel, pepperoni-and-provolone-stuffed pretzel, and chocolate-chip-stuffed pretzel. They recently introduced a new variety of pizza called the “Angry Bee.” This pizza has pepperoni, mozzarella, and ricotta cheese, and is topped with Mike’s Hot Honey, creating a delicious cheesy and spicy pizza with a slightly sweet flavor to balance everything out! The menu doesn’t stop at just pretzels and pizza; they also have sandwiches made from pretzel dough, pretzel-wrapped hot dogs, pretzel calzones, and even pretzel-wrapped Reese’s and Oreos! For more sweet options, Pretzel and Pizza Creations offers 21 different flavors of Hershey’s brand ice cream that you can order in a cone, cup, or milkshake!
When you walk in, you’re instantly welcomed by the delicious smell of pizza. One of the few restaurants in Downtown Frederick with late-night service, they are open from 11 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and 11 AM to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers have the option to either dine in or take out. The restaurant has a front and back dining area, which even features a free community library. Although there isn’t much space, the restaurant doesn’t feel cramped at all and has a cozy atmosphere. If you can’t make it downtown, Pretzel and Pizza Creations is available on GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats.
