Other than your Chromebook and basic school essentials, there are items that people carry in their bags to bring with them throughout the school day. I got the opportunity to ask a few students at Frederick High school.
Freshman Malik Hazell carries green Sabrina’s basketball shoes in his backpack. He carries these for basketball practice after school hours.
Sophomore Theo Dimitriou is a JV and varsity cross country runner. He carries a phone charger, a University of Maryland baseball cap, extra t-shirt for practice, bag of Trolli gummies, biofreeze so his muscles aren’t sore when practice starts, sneakers for practice, and deodorant so he doesn’t stink during the day. He carries a baseball cap during the school day so it keeps his hair out of his eyes when running cross country. Dimitriou also commented “I like the way it looks.”
Sophomore Brooklyn Romano carries a gallon of Arizona ice tea, toothbrush, bedazzled aquaphor, and a pink 20 oz Stanley. She carries a gallon of ice tea because she enjoys it and gets thirsty during the day. Romano also brings a toothbrush to school so she can put her invisalign back in after she finishes eating.
Junior Matthew Gyamfi Jr carries a massage gun and three water bottles to school . He plays varsity soccer and he carries these items so he doesn’t cramp up in school. Also so he can stay hydrated before games.
Senior Ella Silovich carries a Selena Gomez, Stars Dance CD in her backpack. She carries this item because it’s her comfort item and brings her luck wherever she goes.
There are many different items that people carry in their backpacks and you wouldn’t even know unless you were to ask them. So next time you’re bored and don’t know what to do, you can ask students at your school what they carry in their backpacks! Maybe you’ll get a few ideas and start carrying those items to school too!
